Venus Nano-Fractional RF
A non-surgical solution for skin resurfacing, the Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency treatment improves the appearance of acne scars and enlarged pores, giving you smoother and brighter skin.
What is the Venus Viva Nano Fractional Radiofrequency?
Like the Fractional laser, the Venus Viva Fractional Radiofrequency helps reduce acne scars by resurfacing the skin. It is also a fractional ablative procedure.
However, the downtime from a traditional fractional laser can be very long and may be unsuitable for certain skin types (such as darker / more sensitive skin types).
The Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency utilises Nano-fractional radiofrequency energy to remove the top layers of the skin like the Fractional laser, but with less downtime.
How does it work?
The Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency works with tiny pins on the handpiece which safely deliver heat (via radiofrequency) through the skin’ surface. This creates tiny wounds in the skin layers, which will naturally heal on its own to generate new collagen. This process repairs acne scarring and stimulates collagen production to tighten the skin, thus reducing enlarged pores simultaneously. The Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency is best used for rolling scars and box scars.
The Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency is usually best combined with subcision/Rejuran S procedures to achieve best results.
Is it painful?
The procedure requires numbing cream as it damages the top layers of the skin. With numbing, all you will feel is small tiny pin pricks on the skin. Areas with thinner skin such as the under eye areas might be slightly more sensitive.
Is there downtime?
The Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency can have about 3 days of downtime. For more severe acne scarring, the Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency is usually done at a higher setting and can result to about 4-5 days of downtime. Downtime is usually experienced as redness and dryness of the skin.
You are advised to avoid strong sun exposure for at least 7 days after the procedure.
What about acne scarring procedures that claim to have ‘no downtime’?
In order for acne scars to fade and smoothen over, the scar tissue in the skin has to be broken down and new collagen has to form. Unfortunately, for this to happen a certain amount of energy high enough to penetrate the skin is required. Procedures with ‘no downtime’ would never be able to achieve the results of an ablative laser such as a CO2 laser or the Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency. These ‘no downtime’ procedures are just marketing gimmicks which will not yield satisfactory results.
How effective is the treatment?
Like all fractional ablative procedures, results can vary depending on the condition. As mentioned, the Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency is most effective for rolling and box scars when combined with subcision and/or Rejuran S procedures. Results of the Venus Nano-Fractional Radiofrequency are permanent, and do not fade over time.
